Considering a Career in Real Estate?

May 02, 2023

Are you considering a career in real estate?  My name is Daniel, and I’m going to share some of the reasons why I think that choosing a career in real estate is one of the best decisions you can make.

  • You control the throttle: Most people think of real estate as a career with unlimited earning potential (and it is), but real estate is also a fantastic side hustle.  According to a 2022 survey from McKissock, Agents working 21-39 hours per week in the US earned an average of $72,398 in gross income per year.  Not bad for a part-time gig, right?  We’ll talk more about that unlimited earning potential in a minute, but first…
  • Selling real estate is a noble profession serving others. We aren’t the fast-talking, slimy used car salesmen with the slicked-back hair…  I genuinely believe selling real estate is an opportunity to serve others by providing an essential service in the community.  In most cases, buying or selling a home is the largest financial transaction in a person’s life.  As real estate agents, we can help guide people through a situation that can be exciting, scary, stressful, anxious, and uncertain.  Often, people buy or sell due to a significant life event:  the birth of a child, the death of a loved one, a divorce, relocating for a new job, or downsizing with children moving out of the home are some of the many reasons that people choose to buy or sell a new home.  We are more than just the people opening the door to show a home – we are the counselors helping people navigate the transition to the next phase of life.
  • Selling Real Estate provides Job security: A mentor once told me that as long as people live in dwellings, the world will need people like us.  According to the NAR, there have been record numbers of new realtors in the United States in 2019, 2020, and 2021.  At the same time, in 2021 the typical realtor’s annual home sales increased from 10 – 12 transaction sides per year with the median gross income rising from $43,300 to more than $54,000.  So even though there are more real estate agents than ever before, Realtors are earning more than ever before.
  • Did I mention the unlimited earning potential??? According to a 2022 survey from McKissock, agents working full-time with 4 – 10 years of experience earned an average of  $149,034, and agents who chose to work 60+ hours per week earned an average of $172,325.  Just to put that in context, according to thinkimpact.com, 10 years after enrollment the average salary of graduates from Harvard and Stanford was less than $90,000…
  • It’s easy to get started. Although each state has slightly different licensing requirements, in general, you can get a real estate license almost anywhere in the united states in as little as a few months for less than a few thousand dollars.

I know all of this sounds great, but you’ve got to be thinking “What’s the catch?  This seems too good to be true, right?  And even if it’s not, becoming a Realtor feels a little overwhelming.  I don’t know where to get started.  And once I figure out how to get a license, I don’t have a clue what to do next”  The reality is that without a strong support system, and a blueprint for success, most new agents fail.

  • The NAR has reported that 75% of new agents fail in their first year and 87% of new agents fail before reaching 5 years in the industry.

So it’s easy to get started as a Realtor, but without a plan and a mentor, it’s also easy to fail.  The good news is that with the eXp Realty model, I’m here to help you succeed with absolutely no additional cost to you.  And right now I have a limited number of openings available for new real estate agents to partner with me.  You get access to my resources, my paid courses, in-house training materials that we use on our team, business plans, and even one-on-one real estate coaching.    In addition to providing the resources for you to succeed as a real estate agent, I’ll give you a behind-the-scenes look at various aspects of my real estate business – from leading a real estate team, to flipping houses, to managing a portfolio of single-family rentals.

Let’s face it, getting started in real estate can feel overwhelming.  And there are an almost unlimited number of options you could choose from when selecting a broker or real estate coach.  I’ll be honest, when I was getting started, I took all of my pre-licensing classes, and I still didn’t have a clue how to select a broker.  I was so lost that I got my application to take the state licensing exam signed by a broker who couldn’t even provide me access to the MLS once I became an agent!  So let’s just say I can relate to what you might be feeling right now.  Why else might I be the right choice for you?

  • I’ve paid my dues learning from the school of hard knocks, so that you don’t have to make the same expensive mistakes that I did
  • With the eXp Realty business model, when you partner with me as your sponsor, you’ll get access to me and my resources completely free
  • Most importantly, my team is actively growing and selling a lot of real estate. Many other agents who are offering a similar opportunity are focused strictly on recruiting new agents and are far removed from selling real estate themselves.  I have firsthand experience in the market today.  When I’m not working with my partner agents, I’m going on listings appointments, showing houses, and leading my team.  So I can provide the most up-to-date insight on the tools and technology to help you run your business, and the resources to help you generate leads and convert prospects into clients and clients into closings.
